As a mental health therapist, it is Lisa’s professional goal to provide you with quality care throughout your therapeutic treatment. She is dedicated to helping clients create positive emotional and behavioral changes so they can restore balance in their lives. Her approach to therapy is one in which she and clients work together collaboratively to establish goals that are important to the client. Specific skills and strategies are utilized to achieve goals in an effective and timely manner.
Lisa’s varied professional history includes an administrative background in a university setting where she worked for 20 years and held numerous positions, such as Assistant to the Director of Development, Director of Alumni Affairs & Continuing Education, and ultimately an adjunct instructor for the social work department and distance education program.
She has over 16 years of clinical mental health experience and has worked in a variety of settings, such as community mental health, hospice, private practice, and with an agency focused on abused/underprivileged children. Her experience has given her the opportunity to work with people of all ages, and maintaining this spectrum of service is her desire.
Lisa has a Master’s Degree in Social Work, which was obtained through West Virginia University in 2000. She is a licensed clinical social worker through the state of North Carolina; license #C005872. Specific professional training has focused heavily on CBT methodology.
